Artist's Description
A group of evergreen trees stands atop a rocky outcrop under a vast, cloudy sky with a hint of an impending storm. The terrain slopes gently upwards, comprised of exposed bedrock and small shrubs, contributing to a rugged natural landscape.
This view, taken on Mt. Baker, in Washington State, reminds me of somewhere in Middle-earth, from the J.R.R. Tolkien books. I couldn't resist adding texture. I expect to see Gandalf any moment now, striding across the landscape.
About Marilyn Wilson
I consider myself to be primarily a nature and landscape photographer, who also enjoys creating digital art. I live on the west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of beautiful Vancouver Island, and nature provides much of the inspiration for my craft. I am lucky to have many birds and wildlife share my neighbourhood, and I will spend many a happy hour sitting outside with my camera, capturing their antics as they come to visit my yard. The many birds and deer have become used to seeing that crazy lady sitting on the porch pointing her black box at them, and, as a result, I have been lucky to have captured many of their images as they visit unafraid.
