This is a black and white photograph of one of the buildings in historic Fort Rodd Hill. This National Historic Site was built in the late 1890s to defend Victoria, B.C. and the Esquimalt Naval Base from attack. A coast artillery fort, it includes many historic buildings, gun batteries, barracks and more.

About Marilyn Wilson
I consider myself to be primarily a nature and landscape photographer, who also enjoys creating digital art. I live on the west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of beautiful Vancouver Island, and nature provides much of the inspiration for my craft. I am lucky to have many birds and wildlife share my neighbourhood, and I will spend many a happy hour sitting outside with my camera, capturing their antics as they come to visit my yard. The many birds and deer have become used to seeing that crazy lady sitting on the porch pointing her black box at them, and, as a result, I have been lucky to have captured many of their images as they visit unafraid.
