A solitary tree has taken root on top of a submerged stump, which emerges from the calm reflective waters of a lake. The vibrant green of the foliage contrasts with the subdued colors of the water and the rock, creating a serene and almost surreal scene.
Against all odds, this little fir tree grows on the stump of its predecessor, in the middle of a British Columbia lake. Resembling a bonsai tree, it is visible from the road. The tree appears to be thriving, as it is bigger than the last time we passed by that way. The serene Fairy Lake is not far from Port Renfrew, on Vancouver Island in Canada. I wonder ... are Fairy powers at work here?
