Aged concrete steps ascend between weathered walls, creating a narrow alleyway toward an unseen destination. Moss and disuse hint at abandonment, while the sepia tone lends a nostalgic or historic feel to the scene.

This is a staircase leading up from one of the underground batteries on the sites of Fort Rodd Hill, a national historic site in Victoria B.C., Canada.
