The little fir tree grows on the stump of its predecessor, in the middle of a Vancouver Island lake not far from Port Renfrew, in British Columbia, Canada. Resembling a bonsai tree, it is visible from the road. The tree appears to be thriving, as it is bigger than the last time we passed by that way. Suitably, the lake in which this little tree thrives is named Fairy Lake.

I consider myself to be primarily a nature and landscape photographer, who also enjoys creating digital art. I live on the west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of beautiful Vancouver Island, and nature provides much of the inspiration for my craft. I am lucky to have many birds and wildlife share my neighbourhood, and I will spend many a happy hour sitting outside with my camera, capturing their antics as they come to visit my yard.
