A freshly baked pie sits on a wooden board, its surface lightly dusted with sugar, accompanied by a variety of other kitchen items. The warm light illuminates a cozy domestic scene, evoking a sense of homeliness and comfort.This is one of the displays in the Old Town area of the Royal British Columbia Museum. The museum is situated in Victoria, B.C., Canada. Founded in 1886, it is filled with remarkable displays of Canadian history.
I love to wander through and look at the displays. This kitchen, complete with its smells of apple pie and cinnamon, is one of my favourite displays.
About Marilyn Wilson
I consider myself to be primarily a nature and landscape photographer, who also enjoys creating digital art. I live on the west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of beautiful Vancouver Island, and nature provides much of the inspiration for my craft. I am lucky to have many birds and wildlife share my neighbourhood, and I will spend many a happy hour sitting outside with my camera, capturing their antics as they come to visit my yard. The many birds and deer have become used to seeing that crazy lady sitting on the porch pointing her black box at them, and, as a result, I have been lucky to have captured many of their images as they visit unafraid.
