Goldstream Provincial Park lies just north of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The park is known for the towering trees that stand on the Goldstream River floodplain. The park is also known for the annual fall salmon runs in the Goldstream River and the bald eagles that gather to feed at that time. This photograph was taken during a recent winter's walk in the park. I turned a corner of the trail and saw how the light was shining perfectly on one of the trees. I found it to be stunningly beautiful and took the photograph. It wasn't until later, when I was looking at the photograph again, that I could see how very enchanted the scene is.
I consider myself to be primarily a nature and landscape photographer, who also enjoys creating digital art. I live on the west coast of Canada, on the southern tip of beautiful Vancouver Island, and nature provides much of the inspiration for my craft. I am lucky to have many birds and wildlife share my neighbourhood, and I will spend many a happy hour sitting outside with my camera, capturing their antics as they come to visit my yard. The many birds and deer have become used to seeing that crazy lady sitting on the porch pointing her black box at them, and, as a result, I have been lucky to have captured many of their images as they visit unafraid.
