Description
A tranquil lake is framed by lush greenery, and a solitary tree grows atop a tree trunk jutting out of the water. Rippling reflections and the play of light on the water's surface add to the peacefulness of the scene. A slight watercolour effect was used with this photograph, giving the tree a soft appearance.
This little fir tree grows on the stump of its predecessor, in the middle of a Vancouver Island lake not far from Port Renfrew, in British Columbia, Canada. Resembling a bonsai tree, it is visible from the road. The tree appears to be thriving, as it is bigger than the last time we passed by that way. Suitably, the lake in which this little tree thrives is named Fairy Lake.
