Description
A set of worn metal stairs with a diamond plate design descends into a shadowed area.
This historic stairwell sits on the site of the Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site, in Victoria, B.C., Canada. Built in the late 1890s to defend Victoria and the Esquimalt Naval Base, the historic coast artillery fort includes three gun batteries, underground magazines, command posts, guardhouses, barracks and searchlight emplacements. There is a strong sense of history in this park. I wonder how many feet have run up and down these stairs during the last century?
