Description
In the tiny village of Cyffylliog in the wooded Clywedog valley sits the picturesque Church of St. Mary. The parish website states: 'Cyffylliog Church is situated in a small village four miles to the north-west of the market town of Ruthin. The church is ancient, but was restored in the last century. The church is in a quiet and peaceful location by the side of the river Clywedog. An entry in the church registers indicates that King Charles I stopped at Cyffylliog to review his troops during the English Civil War. Another interesting feature of the church is a set of dog tongs.'
